U.S. Forming New Military Alliance In Southeast Asia

Military threats coming from Communist China, have led the U.S. to regroup its primary-military alliances in the South China Sea region. Australia, Japan and the U.S. have brought in the Philippines, as India has departed the alliance to pursue a more independent military role.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said, “The participants share a vision for peace, stability and deterrence in the Indo-Pacific and have chartered an ambitious course to advance that vision together.”

The four nations are planning to hold joint military exercises in the near future.
