An emergency slide separated from a Delta jet shortly after take off from JFK-New York on Friday. It returned safely to JFK. What is wrong? Why is there a slew of parts falling off and malfunctioning on Boeing aircraft? A month doesn’t go by without another story regarding a Boeing aircraft losing parts in mid-air. Can the FAA help to remedy this dangerous problem?
In 1997, when Boeing merged with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, the main and sharp focus of engineering safety took a back seat to the old profit margin. Yea!
Today, we are experiencing the fruits of that decision. And it’s not good.
Will there be a tragic news story in the not-to-distant future? Let’s hope not.
