The United States, along with NATO member Romania, is participating in military exercises in Moldova. Exercises started April 1 and run through April 19.

Moldova is a constitutionally neutral nation. Moldova is the second poorest nation in Europe just behind Ukraine and is not a NATO member. However, NATO is trying hard to change that and would like to admit Moldova into the military alliance. Subsequently, the Party of Chaos has been paying Moldavian oligarchs with nearly $320 million of American taxpayer money. This money is supposedly being used for economic, security, and humanitarian assistance. An additional $300 million is being funneled into Moldova for energy assistance.

Moldova has a border with Ukraine. This fact is obviously a great interest to the Party of Chaos.
